Irene Peterson of Hampton VA. formerly of Morristown passed away after a short illness on Thursday, December 24, 2009 she was 75.
She was born in Morristown June 7, 1934 to the late Joshua and Roberta (Tillet) Baum and lived most of her life in Morristown before moving to Hampton VA. in 1997.
Mrs. Peterson retired from Lucent Technologies in 1989 after 23 years of service. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Morristown before moving to Hampton, where she became a member of Bethel A.M.E. church Hampton, VA.
She was wife of the late John Peterson who died in 1992.
Survivors include her two sons, Lamont (Katherine) of Hopatcong, Harold (Linda) of Hampton, VA., Stepson Kenneth Johnson, Newark, two daughters Sharon Walker (Sylvester) of San Antonio, TX, Michelle Richardson (Leonard) of Kinston, NC., stepdaughter Lori Wall (Ronald) Charlotte, NC., Nine grandchildren and five great grand children, one sister Beatrice Green (Moses) Longwood, Fl., two brothers Walter Baum (Sharon) of Pembroke Pines, Fl., Wesley Baum of Ithaca, NY. , long time friend Peggie Clemons and family of Philadelphia, PA., five nieces, two nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
